Victorian Entrance

We recently manufactured an elegant glazed 4 panel front door for a Victorian house situated in North Oxford. The door retains the same period features as would have been present when the property was originally built.

The door was painted with Farrow & Ball Pigeon No 25.

All the external doors we manufacture at Shaker Doors come CE marked and provide a sufficient U value of 1.8W / m2K insulating your home against outside weather conditions.

‘Still loving my Shaker Doors’ for IKEA METOD kitchens

We always enjoy receiving feedback from our customers. A recent example of this was a pleasing email from one of our clients who lives in the South of France. The kitchen doors were colour-matched to Farrow & Ball No. 264 (Oxford Stone) and we also made some bespoke panels to clad an island unit in the same colour and shaker styling.

Just over a year after the project was completed our client emailed us again to warmly inform us...

Biting the Bullet

At our workshop we routinely take delivery of high quality European timber, as shown in the picture below, which we then use to make our bespoke products. Last week was no different, except for a surprising discovery.

This particular timber came from a sawmill in Italy, and when we were planing it up something got stuck in our machinery. We took a closer look, and found this.

Yes, it was a bullet, that had got cut in half. We'd love to know how it ended up in the timber. Suggestions in the comments below, please!

Nature's inspiration: beautiful bluebells

We are very fortunate that our Shaker Doors workshop is situated in a small village in rural Oxfordshire. This week, the bluebells are in full bloom, and the local woodland walks are breathtakingly beautiful. Scenes like these inspire us to perfect our workmanship, to make products of the highest possible quality.
